Well here is my first attempt at blogging about sign language. I am a mom and speech-language pathologist. I started signing with my baby Addi, when she was about six months old. She is now fifteen months and signing like a champ!

She can sign: more, eat, please, drink (her sign looks like the sign for pig), all done, elephant, lion, monkey (she signs this as she swings from the highchair tray), milk, cookie, baby, love, cow, dog and- I'm sure I am forgetting some.
Here she is in her "I Love Daddy" sign t-shirt.

Her first sign was dog when she was seven months. We were at the Denver Museum of Natural History. We were shocked! Then any animal she saw she would sign dog. So cute.

Now she signs dog every morning and walks to the back door where my sister's dog is kept when she visits. I have taught her to sign "dog please" to her Daddy because we are campaigning for a new dog. Our dog died a few weeks before Addi was born.
